Map Location Information ToolsThe pages within this section are for USDA Employees Only. The following application has been tested and is certified for use on ITS workstations running ArcGIS 9.2. The application and Installation Guide is available through Team Services Website under the Supplemental Applications and Instructions library. The Service Center Agencies create thousands of map layouts in ArcMap and need a way to quickly insert textual information identifying the location of the area of interest. Users can always manually add title information, but this can be time consuming. The National Cartography & Geospatial Center (NCGC) developed a toolbar for ArcMap 9.2 that allows users to easily select attributed information from vector layers for display in a text box for map layouts. The Map Location Information Toolbar provides point and area selection tools. The users must first select and format attributes from a point, line or polygon layer, which are saved to a format file for reuse with other layouts. The format file can be shared with other users. These documents require Adobe Acrobat.
Note: The tool must be removed before removing ArcGIS for an upgrade to a later version of ArcGIS. Last Modified: 05/05/2008 |
